Aly, originally from Ireland but brought up in Newcastle upon- Tyne, has travelled the world chasing winter. She has ski instructed everywhere from Italy, USA, Japan and New Zealand.

Her passion for snow was born when she strapped her first pair of skis on at the age of three, she has been reluctant to take them off ever since. When she does manage to, you are likely to find her pursuing some of her other pastimes which include trail running, slack lining and studying for a university degree!

Luca was the best ski instructor I have ever had across many years and in many ski schools and resorts. He combines a friendly and relaxed attitude with total professionalism and excellent knowledge of the mountains. I was very impressed in particular with the following aspects:

  1. He was able to instantly spot the problems with my technique and address them very quickly through both appropriate explanation and series of progressive exercises to change my bad habits.
  2. He knew the ski area and where it was appropriate to go in variable conditions inside out.
  3. On top of the practical knowledge of skiing technique he was very keen to pass on knowledge about appropriate safety in terms of off piste skiing (appropriate equipment, snow pack analysis, theory of how avalanches occur and what to be aware of at different times of year, training on using transceiver): i really like this mix.
  4. He has very good balance of friendliness and being encouraging and serious professionalism

I also was really impressed and would want to learn from Luca's combination of a clear love of the mountains and skiing and a keen awareness of the importance of appropriate safety precautions and risk management in terms of off piste and back country skiing.

If I am ever in Zermatt again whether alone or with family or friends I will be sure to get lessons (off piste if possible) with Luca again. I was very, very happy with my lessons in terms of the progress I made and enjoyable experience. I will definitely recommend him to any friends looking for lessons in Zermatt.

I think Summit should be extremely happy to have Luca as an instructor. I think he is an excellent and valuable member of your team (and I say that having had the benefit of lessons with other very good Summit instructors in the past, but Luca stands out in positive way even compared to them in my view). Many thanks Luca!

Luca cheula is an amazing instructor. Have used his services two years in a row and cannot recommend him enough. We came back to Zermatt because of him.

Sam was a fantastic instructor, extremely patient - I wouldn't hesitate in booking again and recommending Summit to friends. You guys rock! :o)

I really want to thank you for all your hard work and patience. You have been a star and our daughter thinks the world of you. She has come on leaps and bounds and I am delighted.  See you next year!!!

Sarah was great! Friendly, patient and really had an eye for how we were progressing and when we were ready for the next step. I would definitely use Summit again!

We specifically chose summit because of your special needs program. Ash have managed to teach our autistic daughter in 3 days more than she learnt in 3 years. I think you need to advertise the program more as it is fantastic.

Sarah was lovely and pitched the lesson exactly to our level. Also very helpful with lunch reservations.

Even though it wasn't my first time skiing, it was definitely the most valuable ski experience. Since it was my first time taking a lesson from a professional instructor, the two hours with Max were worth while for the next couple of days I spent in Zermatt.

Next time, with a better planning from my side, I will put more time into these valuable lessons.

Thank you for all the help when booking, it was made very easy with the email correspondence and flexibility with booking and times etc.

Our family of four all novice skiers had private lessons with Erica who was wonderfully patient and helpful. She had us all up and running in no time, by the end of day one we were on a blue and day two we explored a bit more of the mountain. Wonderful balanced attention to the variety of skill sets. Couldn't have been better and had a fantastic time. On our third day without Erica we tackled blue runs on Gornergrat which were awesome but my legs were tiring! Her instruction ringing in my ears made it much easier as I tried to slow my turns and catch my son flying down the mountain!

3 reasons to ski with Aly

I guarantee you will have fun if you ski with me. It is of the utmost importance to me  that when anyone comes for a lesson they leave with a big grin on their face.

I will listen to what you want to achieve from your lesson and I won’t rest until you feel you’ve achieved your goals.

I am a very positive and motivational instructor so if you are feeling a little nervous, perhaps you haven’t skied before or its been a little while, you are in safe hands with me. I will guide you to success, providing support along the way and pace the lesson to suit your needs.
