Skiing has always been my passion. The memories I have as a 3-year-old of taking the night train to Austria and arriving in a snow-covered resort then starfishing down the slopes and the sheer joy that went with it has stayed with me to this day. Since that moment, I haven’t looked back and still get excited when I see the first snow of the season. I’ve skied all over Europe and the States and have done seasons in Morzine and Courchevel.
I was born In Wales, grew up in Essex and have been living in between Paris and the mountains since I finished university 10 years ago. When in Paris, I teach English, run my own language school in Montmartre, eat cheese and drink wine (very cliché). When in the mountains, I do pretty much the same thing except the teaching I do is on the slopes, the views are better and I do it all with a big grin on my face.
I enjoy learning languages. I speak fluent French, conversational Spanish and can order beer in most of the others. I’m also a fan of photography, travelling the world, meeting new people and discovering new cultures.
My nickname here is “Interesting Dave”. I’ll let you decide if that name rings true or not.
Without doubt the best lesson we have ever had in 20 years + of lessons for meeting our specified objectives. Thank you!
Paul is fantastic. He is professional, curious and extremely patient with first time skiers.:-)
Paul was the perfect instructor for a very mixed group. He knew just what to do when teaching 2 teen agers and a group of teens and fathers. He changed his approach accordingly and everyone enjoyed the lessons.
We had an incredible unforgettable holiday thanks to Paul. He is a fantastic instructor who made it possible for us to be able to ski in places and on slopes we would have only dreamed about before.
Paul was fantastic. We had a great lesson. He was very personable and patient...wish we had been able to spend longer with Summit and in Zermatt! Thank you
Paul is the best ski instructor I have ever had. He even sent me the skiing video what he made on my last day. Thank you very much Paul!
Paul is amazing. The lessons were really informative and helpful. I made significant progress during the three days and my friends were impressed by how much I learned.
3 reasons to ski with Dave
A while back, I found a photo of a 7-year-old me after the end-of-week ski school race. I was in full 80s ski gear and had the biggest smile in my face. Pure joy. It was at this moment I realized that I wanted to become a ski instructor for the simple reason that skiing brings me happiness and makes me enjoy getting up in the mornings. I love skiing and I want you to love it too. I will do everything in my power to help you get that grin on your face. Let’s have some fun together.
If you are a nervous skier, look no further! I’m your man. I have limitless patience and am happy to take things slow and steady to build your confidence on the slopes. At the same time, I will also challenge you to do your best and feel a sense of pride at what you’ve achieved so that you can walk (or ski) away at the end of the lesson looking forward to the next time you can ski again.
I have a lovely beard.
