Who are we
Summit was set up in 2004 by Paul Hammett and Erica & Henry Meredith Hardy.
We set up the school with a close team of great skiers. We are passionate about our lives in the mountains, we love sharing that with our clients and delivering awesome lessons.
Over the last 12 seasons we have invested heavily in our team with regular training as well as social events throughout the season. We have employed over 120 instructors over the years and we’re proud of the work they’ve done to help make Summit a success.

The Summit Team
Summit is only as strong as the team on the hill. Our team of around 30 instructors work for us in the winter. There are 10 who live in Zermatt year round and are making their lives here. We have another core group who return every winter, some of them are back in the UK in the summers and a lot teach in Australia or New Zealand. There is always a handful who move on or change careers and so we have between 3 and 6 new instructors join the team each year.
This mix of people makes for an experienced dynamic team who know the resort, the mountains and ski & snowboard teaching really well. This is has helped us create a good reputation in town and amongst clients, both new and returning.

What we do
We are a British ski school, but we employ instructors from Italy, Switzerland, Portugal and Sweden as well as the UK. This allows us to cater for Zermatt’s international client base well.
We teach private lessons both on and off-piste for ski, snowboard and telemark. We run lessons from 2 hour to all day. Whether clients want technical instruction, guiding around the mountain or the full VIP service meeting at the hotel, booking lunch and organising everything we have the instructors to do it all.
Our group lessons run for skiers 6 days a week, focusing on making good changes, maximising skiing time in a small group. We also allow clients to book any day they like to make it as flexible as possible for them. While this can be challenging for the instructor it provides the best possible service for the client.
We work with UK tour operators and high-end local chalet companies in town. We have clients from all over the world and as the only English speaking school in Zermatt, we attract native English speakers. Who do we reach?
We delivered over 9000 hours of lessons last winter. Our reach is to over 2000 clients a year. The relationship built between a client and an instructor is an ideal dynamic to have solid brand placement.
Zermatt is one of the top resorts in the world and as such attracts clients with money to spend. We are well placed working with these clients every day through the season to test, use and recommend great products.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

Social Media
We are active in our use of social media. This is something we have been developing and is growing year on year. It is our primary form of marketing and we are investing more time each year to develop this.
We have our regular episodes of Summit TV during the winter. This has been largely on Facebook in recent years and we are shifting some of the older videos to YouTube which is where all our content will be uploaded this winter. We use Instagram to share our high-quality photos and photos updating what the conditions are like. All our content is fed to Facebook and Twitter also. We have the highest levels of engagement through Facebook and Instagram and are going to push our YouTube channel more this season.
We have also been developing our blog to create engaging content about Zermatt, ski teaching and skiing that we can share regularly and consistently. We have a post scheduled for each week of the winter.
