Bio

Dan spends summers working as an outdoor instructor teaching climbing, mountain biking, caving and other outdoor activities. When I'm not working I'll be found on the water either enjoying the windy weather or paddling out through some break!

Dan has taught in America and Zermatt and spent a season in Morzine training.

What is the best thing about Zermatt:

Walking to work in the morning with the sun glinting off the side of the Matterhorn

What's your favourite mountain restaurant?

Bontadinis over on the Cervinia side

Best moment you have had on skis:

Skiing powder through the trees with my dad in Morzine, France, a few seasons ago. It was snowing so hard that every time we came back round for another run our tracks had been completely covered and there were new freshies to be had!

What skis/board do you ride?

Im hoping to get a pair of Stockli Laser SX skis. But i currently riding a Ride DH snowboard and a pair of world cup Dynastar GS skis

Favourite conditions to ski in?

Powdery bumps

What would beat a powder day?

Surfing a 5ft clean reefbreak somewhere tropical with a jetski to tow me back out

If you weren't a ski instructor what would you be doing?

Teaching either windsurfing or surfing

What is your next personal challenge/goal/aspiration outside skiing?

To go travelling with just a back pack and a surfboard
