For the last couple of weeks we have had  a sample of our uniform for next season. We are working with Picture and will be wearing their top end kit, and it is awesome. I have been up with a few of the team to get some shots in it, although slushy a couple of weeks ago we have recently had some amazing powder to ski too.

The temperatures have been warmer (getting really warm in the last couple of days) and mostly blue sky days. There were a couple with high cloud creating quite flat light.

Level 5 group Izzy Cowper Level 5 lesson Level 5 carving lesson

On Friday I headed out with Izzy Cowper and her Level 5 group to spend the morning with them and take some pictures. They were making the most of being up on the glacier first thing and were perfecting their carving on Furgsattel.

First thing it was empty and they had an hour with the slopes virtually to themselves. A few great drills and some time to practice and everyone was really improving their carving skills.

Loads of individual feedback and only a small group, it was great to see our ideas in practice and working.

We had a great week here in Zermatt with great conditions all over the mountain.

Although we haven’t had any fresh snow in a while the pistes are fantastic in the morning and by the afternoon are a little hard but still really skiable.

Also we have all of our yellow itinerary runs open which give some great skiing opportunities for those wanting something a bit steeper and bumpier!

We had 3 of our Kids Club and 2 New Schoolers groups running, as well as lots of adult groups and private lessons. All in all a great week.

Given it was such a busy week the pistes were surprisingly quiet most of the time and I managed to avoid any lift queues all week.

The week started really cold but warmed up to some much balmier temperatures, only -4 in town and -12 at the top.

The forecast for now looks like more sun and getting warmer….spring is on the way.

There was a bit of snow on thursday and then friday morning the heavens opened and it hasn’t really stopped since! It is still snowing in town now but pretty lightly. The mountain was closed completely yesterday which hasn’t happened for a long time and today it has been opening up slowly. Now there are a couple of runs open on Sunnegga and Gornergrat, but it is still pretty windy up there though.

The forecast for this week is for a bit of sun over the next couple of days and then more snow. So contrary to the doom and gloom of the UK press we are shaping up for a great season, lets hope it keeps on coming!

The glacier is in great condition, skiing to Trockener Steg is all open, both the routes over to Italy are open and conditions down to Plan Maison are fantastic. Looks like they are working hard preparing snow down to Furgg and the chair on Gornergrat is open too.
